Somali Singer Insulting Islamic Teachings
Assalamu Alaikum dear Brothers and Sisters. I have recently come across
this song which is sung by a known Somali artist, in Arabic, and being a
native Arabic speaker myself, I was shocked to hear the contents of this
song.
The artist, Mr. Maxamad shimibir, is blatantly Mocking the religion of Islam
without any regards for its morals and teachings. It's even sadder to see
how the audience masses are dancing and cheering to such attacks against
Allaah and our beloved prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
One may argue and say that Mr. Shimbir and his audience had no clue as to
what the words meant, but as a recording artist, its imperative that He had
known the meaning of the song rather than singing it ignorantly.
As we all know, Somaliland is a nation that has been through and survived a
great number of turmoils, including political and economical crisis with
neighboring southern somalia. The majorities of Somalilanders are Muslims
and tremendously blessed by Allaah Almighty. Is this how we Thank Allaah's
favor over us? By Mocking him and his religion? God forbid!
Allaah says in the Noble Quran "Say: 'Was it Allaah and His verses and His
Messenger that you were mocking? Make no excuses, you have
disbelieved after having had faith." [Surah At-Tawbah: 65-66]
This ayah (verse) was revealed with regard to a group of people that had
mocked and ridiculed the Prophet during the battle expedition of Tabook.
They said: "We have not seen anyone more eager to fill their stomachs nor
more lying with their tongues nor more cowardly in the battlefield than the
likes of these companions of ours." They meant by this the Messenger and his
Companions. So this (above) ayah was revealed regarding them.
Likewise, if someone reviles Allaah or reviles the Messenger or he reviles
Islam, he commits disbelief.
So, I call Upon Mr. Shimbir and his Comrades (that aide him through this
indecensy) to fear Allaah and to repent. Mr. Shimbir, Allaah has favored
you in many ways, thank him for it and be obedient to your creator, and
remember, Allaah is ever forgiving and the most merciful.
The Translation for Mr. shimbir's "Islamic" song, which he sings in a
party-style method, with people dancing around indecently is mentioned
below. As a reader, please ask yourself, has Mr. shimbir and the
somalilanders come to celebrate the independence day or to "indecently
dance" to an "islamic" song?

Have the Somalilanders come for the same "exact" reason that Mr. Shimbir
mentioned in the song?
After reading the translation, we come to know that Mr. shimbir was lying
and mocking, while the somalilanders were Celebrating their independence
day. What is the difference between Mr. shimbir's song in an islamically
"unethical" surrounding, and a man who walks into the washroom holding the
